Announcement of ANiC’s three new bishops-designa

From Bishop Don

My dear ANiC Sisters and Brothers,

It is my joy to report on a process that was set in motion at our first synod in November 2008. At that synod, Bishop Malcolm and I were entrusted with the task of identifying three faithful leaders to be consecrated as bishops in the Anglican Network in Canada. Read more »

Monday, the first Provincial Assembly of the Anglican Church in North America begins.

From Marilyn Jacobson  ANiC communications

Many people have worked years – even decades – to see the creation of a biblical, missionary and united Anglican Church. With this inaugural Assembly, that vision has become a reality. The Anglican Network in Canada is one of 28 dioceses in this new North American Church, so we have official delegates at the Assembly. As well, a number of our members are here as observers; they just didn’t want to miss this historic event! Read more »

Finally, we have our basement back

The flooring guy just left.  We have a nice new wall to wall in the recreation room, our computer room and stairs have nice shiny new lino.  The next step is to shuffle furniture from upstairs and the garage then find some extra chairs for the study group.  The downstairs bathroom is not done but its a short run upstairs.

We will be organizing an introductory pot luck sometime soon to get a feel for the direction we should go.  We will be consulting with Paul+ on where to start.  There are almost one hundred Bible Study topics available.  Decisions – decisions!

A list of ACoC clergy in your neighbourhood who support same-sex blessings

From Anglican Samizdat, a bit old but some things, like rotting corpses, don’t come to the surface right away

In January 2007 a number of ACoC bishops, clergy and lay people signed an open letter exhorting general synod to approve same sex blessings. Take a look at the list of people who signed it to see if your rector is there.

From Brandon signers are Tim Spencer, Amelia Reid, Gordon & Mary Dove, Margaret Yorke, and the Dean Robin Walker.  Missing is Jim Njovegan’s, a bit of a surprise.  And overlooked was Bob Bettson’s wife Coline.

Here is the letter:

Taking a break

Between travel plans for our grandson’s Baptism and Confirmation and diving back in the books for the Old Testament University courses I am going to be scaling back blogging for a while.  Bible Study group plans are on track and the only holdup is getting the basement finished and finalizing a ‘public awareness program’.

We have received an offer of space and resources in a local church.  We will see where God leads us.
